Maryland Bridge

Maryland Bridge is a method of bridging a space in the anterior arch (front teeth) without so much reducing the adjacent teeth. It is composed of one pontic (a tooth to fill the space) and two wings that are cemented to the adjacent teeth. The front of the adjacent teeth remain. Only a small amount of the lingual (the tongue side or inside part of the tooth) would be reduced. The result is not as strong as a bridge but a Maryland Bridge is esthetically pleasing. |
