  CT Scan Imaging

CT scan imaging works closely with implantologists to produce the kind of picture they need to plan their procedures. Any lesion can be measured to the submillimeter level for precise pre-surgical planning.

Implantologists get 1:1 ratio film rendering, from any 3D or MIP view required (sagittal, coronal, axial, oblique). Images are provided on film, photo paper, or DICOM CD, all of which allow for precise prosthesis measurement and placement.

The CT Scan Imaging Guarantee

* Precise submillimeter measurements of the maxilla and mandible
* 1:1, minified or magnified renditions from any angle as per your preference
* 3D, MIP, and Hounsfield-Bone Density reformatted imaging
* Request for views of the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both

Pre-planning or treatment planning for abutments, restorations and aesthetics, allows you to attain closer placement tolerances to critical structures (ie. nerves, the sinus and adjacent roots). It will greatly improve your success rate from a restorative and surgical point of view.

Jaw-dropping images

The anatomic features of the mandible most important to the implant surgery are:

1. the contour of the alveolar ridge
2. the height of the alveolar ridge
3. the location of the inferior alveolar nerve canal

CT Scan Imaging provides the surgeons an operation with information of the internal structures that cannot even be gained by direct intra-operative visualization. Axial scans at 1 mm are obtained continuously through either the maxilla or mandible. Using the axial scan through the roots of the teeth, the curvature of the alveolar ridge is drawn on the computer screen.

The software program then produces sequential oblique cross-sections around the entire curvature of the alveolar ridge. Each of the cross-sections is sequentially numbered and matched to tick marks on the axial views. Panoramic views are also obtained and the oblique views are keyed to the panoramic scans as well.

The CT scans are photographed in true life-size format with vertical scale in millimeters. The inferior alveolar nerve can be clearly seen on the cross-section oblique views. The inferior alveolar nerve canal is a vital structure that needs to be avoided during surgery.
