All-Ceramic Crowns do not use the traditional metal coping or framework covered with opacious porcelain, which covers completely the natural tooth, instead they use a porcelain, Zircon or Alumina framework which is semi-translucent and tooth coloured. Because of their translucency they use the natural color of the underlying dentine giving them a living brightness and glow. This also gives better margins (the point where the crown meets the natural tooth at the gum). Although All-ceramic crowns are more expensive they do look more natural.
